The beginning of the 2011 season marks the start of a new era for the New Jersey Hitmen as newly appointed general manager Michael Czosnyka looks to bring the team back to its former winning glory when they became the Planetary Extreme Championship Champions in the inaugural 2007 season. Since their championship win the Hitmen have been gradually losing steam as they have lost 10 or more games each season since going 108-54. Last year they ended up 77-85 in 5th place of the Pan-Atlantic division of the Imperial League.
There are lots of rumors circling the acquisition of general manager Michael Czosnyka as talks of mob ties could potentially lead to league wide trouble. Although authorities are hesitant to provide any further information we do know from inside sources that Czosnyka has been acting strangely since arriving in the clubhouse and is often seen being followed around and advised by a stocky and shady figure.
Despite these rumors what's more interesting is the quick work that Czosnyka has done to get the team back into shape. There are rumors that he has already been hard at work sealing 3 big trades featuring some big name players that have long made their home here in New Jersey. Although no official word is out yet, we hope to have any changes to you as soon as possible.
For the moment expectations are low as Czosnyka is a new general manager in the league with little experience so this reporter will be happy to see the Hitmen break even for the year at 81-81.
